The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) invites you to co-develop the State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP), along with other cross-sector partners, Tribes and community members.
In 2025, DOH reviewed a compilation of state health data—the State Health Assessment — with an Alliance of partners, Tribes and community members, and held community listening sessions to establish access to care and mental/behavioral health as Washington State’s top health priorities. Now it’s time to drive improvement, using a collective action approach and collaboratively building policy solutions. To learn more about the SHIP, visit the DOH website.
These virtual convenings in March will be a space to:
- Elevate and strengthen current work across the state.
- Hear a variety of perspectives and experiences to inform solutions.
- Generate a prioritized list of policy solutions for system improvements.
- Identify different policy approaches for different needs.
- Innovate together on new policy approaches.
- Build collaboration, trust and community.
- Create an environment for collective action with community members, Tribes and cross-sector partners.
As a participant, please come prepared to:
- Review background information ahead of the convening (a packet will be provided).
- Contribute professional or lived-experience related to access to care and/or mental and behavioral health.
- Share critical perspectives and expertise for developing policies.
- Participate in small and large group discussions with peers; listening, learning, and engaging in a manner that is respectful & inclusive of all voices.
