WSHA report spotlights strong progress in safety and care innovation

WSHA recently released its 2025 Clinical Excellence Annual Report, outlining clinical care initiatives undertaken last year in partnership with Washington hospitals. The WSHA Clinical Excellence Team supports hospitals to provide safe, high-quality, accessible, culturally competent and equitable care for all Washingtonians.   

2025 highlights: 

• 51 hospitals participated in WSHA’s 2025 DELTA Collaboratives across six initiatives. 

• Nearly all Washington birthing hospitals adopted TeamBirth – a care process innovation that centers shared decision making. 

• All hospitals actively participated in implementing best practices related to Washington state’s hospital staffing law. 

• 38 leaders from 17 rural hospitals attended regional quality roundtables. 

This report represents the one of many significant investments Washington hospitals make to deliver high-quality care for all patients. WSHA is committed to continuing to provide support, resources and expertise to help our hospitals achieve their quality goals. (Megan Herman)
