Resource Launch: Pediatric Boarding Toolkit for Psychiatric Patients
Pediatric patients with psychiatric conditions boarding in hospitals is an ongoing challenge and much of this care is provided outside of pediatric facilities. Throughout 2026, a multi-disciplinary team of hospital leaders have worked together to compile resources and best practices in caring for these patients while waiting for appropriate placement. This document includes information on supporting the patient, their family and caregivers, as well as the staff providing their care.
This webinar will feature a review of the toolkit, presentations by community partners who work with this patient population, and highlight an opportunity to continue the work into 2027. It is open to all hospital members, and those working in emergency departments or in positions of leadership are encouraged to attend.
