The strength of our collective work for hospitals and their patients lies in the connections among WSHA members. The WSHA CEO Retreat is the only event we host where hospital and health system CEOs, administrators and executive site leaders can spend time solely with peers. There are three primary goals of this event – to return you to your organizations reinvigorated, to provide relevant content about emerging issues, and to strengthen the bonds among you.

The event is at the beautiful Salish Lodge Oct. 14-16 and will include meaningful sessions, group discussions, structured fun together, and downtime to build relationships with other hospital leaders. It’s a time to connect with peers to discuss key issues, be inspired, and share solutions and struggles.

Session Highlights:

The Eclipse Mindset: How to Prepare for the Moments That Change Everything
Jon Carmichael’s journey to capturing one of history’s most breathtaking images of a solar eclipse wasn’t just about photography—it was about perspective, audacity, and the relentless pursuit of possibility. Jon will share how embracing The Eclipse Mindset—one that sees beyond obstacles and reimagines limitations—allowed him to turn uncertainty into a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Jon’s story proves that when we step into our eclipse moment—where preparation, intuition, and risk-taking collide—we can transform setbacks into breakthroughs and create history.

We CAN Fix Healthcare – The Future is NOW
Dr. Stephen K. Klasko proposes an extraordinary, even science fiction, event where a no-blaming conversation leads to an optimistic new future. Democrats and Republicans find they can collaborate on Dr. Klasko’s 12 disruptive transformations. Built on a variety of interviews from every part of the system, looking at service, education, economics, and the sociology of healthcare, Dr. Klasko argues that if we stop blaming each other, trends we now see as disruptive will actually lead to solutions.

The Human Margin: Foundations of Trust (eligible for in-person ACHE credit)
Between employee burnout and disengagement, and staff departing from the healthcare field altogether, fostering a healthy and flourishing workforce is one of the biggest hurdles facing organizations today. But the research on what’s driving turnover, burnout and disengagement is not what it seems. Katherine Meese PhD will provide an eye-opening, highly interactive seminar that translates decades of employee satisfaction research into evidence-based strategies you can use to successfully improve—and sustain—a thriving workforce.

Registration is open and more information is available on the event website (login required, email [email protected] for assistance). (Ashley Trotti)
